MTV Rock'N'Jock 1994

Another rare one here. The MTV Rock'N'Jock game used to be the celebrity games of the 90's but with also NBA players. Rules are also a bit different as 25pt baskets come down at the end of each quarter. The stars of that time playing in there include C-Webb, Shawn Kemp, Reggie Miller, Gary Payton, Mitch Richmond, JR Rider and Cliff Robinson. Celebrities include Ken Griffey Jr, Boyz2Men, Kenny Lofton, Kay Gee and many others.

Back to the light follows France national team during the Euro Qualifying from earlier this month. In this episode you'll see France's (rare) win against Belgium. I'm not sure if the title was rightly chosen since France, after missing last Olympics, hasn't managed -yet- to qualify to the Eurobasket. Wait & see.

2008 Quai 54 Videos

Feb. 1st 1998: Bulls vs Lakers

The teacher against the student.
This is Jordan's last game in LA with the Bulls. It's not really a matchup between MJ and KB but a good game still. It's always a pleasure to watch MJ scoring 30 or more, Rodman grab rebounds and guarding Shaq or Eddie Jones catching alley hoops.

The quality is average but very watchable.

Game of a lifetime for 24 year old Kobe as he beat NBA record for 3 points made in a game with an increbible 9 straight 3s (if you wanna just see most of the 3 pts you gotta check 2nd & 3rd quarter).

"I never thought I would have a game like this, though," he said. "I made the first one, I said, 'Let me see if I can make two.' I made the second one, I said, 'Let me see if I can make three.' I made the third one, I said, 'I've got a rhythm going.' "

Shaq, Radmanovic and Mason also had a good game.

Euro 2009 Qualifying: France-Turquie

Last chance for France to clinch directly a spot for the 2009 Eurobasket champhionship. Great performance by Tony Parker (his best game with France for a looong time) but will it be enough?
The game is in french and in MP4 format on MU. Due to some conversion problems the aspect quality of the second half is different (better) than the 1st.

2000 Olympics: France-USA

First meeting between USA and France during the Sydney Olympics. As you could guess from the pic above the game with the famous Carter dunk that destroyed Weis' dreams of NBA career, lol.

This one has original commentary by the french voice of basketball (George Eddy, him again) so experts will appreciate.

I'll post another France game and the finals tomorrow.

Euro 2009 Qualifying: France - Turkey

3rd game for France in the Eurobasket qualifying from last Wednesday. The French won over Belgium but lost by 1 point in Ukraine. This one is played in Turkey.
The video starts at 6'30 in the 3rd quarter only because it started much earlier than my TV program scheduled.
I'll try to rip tomorrow's game against Belgium too.

Katrina Relief Game

3 years ago early September was held in Houston a charity game organized by Kenny Smith for the victims of hurricane Katrina, all the NBA stars answered the call and donated funds and supplies valued at more than $1 million.

Classic Movie: Hoop Dreams, 1994

This documentary follows two inner-city Chicago residents, Arthur Agee and William Gates, as they follow their dreams of becoming basketball superstars. Beginning at the start of their high school years, and ending almost 5 years later, as they start college, we watch the boys mature into men, still retaining their "Hoop Dreams". Both are recruited into the same elite high school as their idol, former Detroit Piston superstar Isaiah Thomas. Only one survives the first year; the other must return to a high school closer to his home. Along the way, there is much tragedy, some joy, a great wealth of information about inner city life, and the suspense of not knowing what will occur next. This is not a "by-the-numbers" film.

April 3rd 2004, McGrady became the first player in more than four years to eclipse 60 points, going for a staggering 62.
Using his usual assortment of drives and jumpers, the 6-9 superstar became just the 17th player in NBA history to score 60 points. He made 20-of-37 shots, including 5-of-14 from 3-point range, and 17-of-26 free throws, missing a chance at becoming just the fifth player to score 70. 1985 Push Excel Game [Jordan's Rookie Season]

Vintage and pretty rare game from the eighties. It's the best rookies versus the "veterans" of the NBA at the end of the 84-85 season. In other words you have Magic Johnson, Isiah Thomas, Dominique Wilkins and Doc Rivers (young) playing against Michael Jordan and other unknown rookies. This a is must have for any MJ fan.
